Tony and Maeve Caplin have established a centre of excellence at Montgomery. Fine food, and a gallery of pictures, photographs, digital images and woodcraft. Food Maeve concentrates on the food, constantly looking for new recipes for her soups and lunches for which she has a growing reputation, leading to her being featured twice on TV. . There is a full lunchtime menu with a specials selection changed daily. The ingredients are organic and locally sourced where possible. Along with regular favourites such as cream and afternoon teas, an array of home made cakes can enjoyed ensuring a relaxing and tasty time at The Ivy House. Cheese lovers will delight in the wonderful selection of Welsh cheeses. A typical choice for lunch would be homemade soup followed by Homity pie or Spring Onion, Dill and Salmon tart and a pudding of sticky toffee, lemon roulade, bread pudding or a selection of Welsh ice cream. Many other choices are on the permanent menu. Evening meals can be booked on Friday and Saturday evenings, see sample menu. We are not licensed but you are very welcome to bring your own wine, there is no corkage charged. We hope to restart our monthly Monday poetry evenings again this autumn. We also take special party bookings any other night of the week.
